There is some confusion over the definition of a manager versus a leader. Here is how I understand it:
When leaders turn their people into things, they cease being leaders and turn into managers by viewing the employees as objects.
Learning the skills of EQ leadership means you will focus your attention on 4 skills:

The 5th skill in EQ is called motivation. That comes from within and is only controlled by you. It cannot be taught.
The selling profession has changed very little over the past 4 or 5 decades. Sales trainers continue to teach persuasion and manipulation as though it is a new philosophy of dealing with people. Ask yourself, how do you react when someone tries to manipulate you into buying?
Many sales people report high anxiety before and during sales calls. The source of the anxiety is knowing you have to persuade, manipulate, or withhold truth. Being honest is inbred and when you violate your conscious, it creates anxiety, stress, sweaty palms, stuttering, loss of thought, and rapid speech.
Selling using the same EQ skills corporate leaders posses removes anxiety.
